The end of an era
It was gonna happen at some point.
For the past two years, I’ve been using Squarespace to blog about my Cleveland adventures and to host my portfolio. This site went through a few changes over the years: updating my portfolio, adding links to galleries, and adding a services page.
I’m entering my third year as a photographer, and between that and turning 33, I’m eyeing a rebrand. I’m trying to make some changes to my morning routine, my training program, and I got a new pair of specs. Part of my rebrand includes updating my website.
As much as I love Squarespace, I’m looking for something a little bit different in terms of design, and I want something geared for the photographer. So I decided to switch over to Format.com. One of my favorite photographers, Lanna Apisukh, uses Format. After browsing some of their templates, I decided to make the switch because it really is photographer-focused. My new site really just has my portfolio and a new biography. That’s how I want it, I think.
I’m still keeping this site, though! There’s so much history here. I’ve been blogging since November 2023 about photography and my day trips to various spots around Cleveland: Vermillion, Fresh Fest, photography events, parks, local landmarks. So I’ll be keeping this site, but I’ll only use it for blogging. I definitely want to keep up with that.
So yeah. My updated portfolio is on Format, and my photo journal remains on Squarespace.
Expect some new blog posts soon. This weekend I have four events to shoot: a wedding, two open mics, and a baby shower. I think I’ll take Monday off next week to recover. 😮💨
